Each printer is different. Reading your owner's manual will give you lots of information about printer capabilities, paper handling features, ink cartridges, etc. In general, you want to change your printer properties to specify:
- "letter size" paper (8.5 X 11 inches)
- "Normal" or "Graphics" print quality
- The paper tray you plan to use
- Set the output paper stacking sequence (first page on top or last page on top)
Click on the following to change your printer settings:
- Start
- Settings
- Printers
- Double-click on the printer you plan to use for label printing
- Printer
- "Set as Default" to make this your default printer
- Printer/Properties - each printer driver is different, but generally there are several tabs for paper size, paper orientation, print quality, and other printer features:
- Set the paper size - normally LETTER size (8.5 X 11")
- Set the print quality to "NORMAL" or "Graphics". "Draft" modes are fast, but the color is not high quality. "Photo", "Best", "DTP (DeskTop Publishing)" and other high quality print modes may take much longer to print.
- Set the paper tray you plan to use, if your printer has more than one paper tray
- Set the paper to stack correctly. Some printers put the first page printed at the BOTTOM of the stack. Click on "Ordered Printing" or an equivalent printer setting to stack the first page on top.
- Click on "OK" or "Apply" to confirm the changes
