  • easy to afford - uses your existing PC's, workstations, and printers
NetLabels is written in Java(TM). This is important in many ways:
  • No need to load any label printing software onto your PC or workstation. All you need is a free web browser and the free Java Plug-in.
  • The same software can run in a browser as a Java applet or standalone as a PC application (where no Internet connection is available)
  • For larger installations, NetLabels can be installed on your intranet's web server, speeding software loading.
  • When running in a browser, NetLabels automatically downloads the latest version from the web server. No need to install new label software on your PC or workstation - ever.
  • When running in a browser, NetLabels runs as a "signed Java Applet." This prevents Java applets from accessing local system resources, including printers, without user permission.
  • When running in a browser, NetLabels software is automatically downloaded from the web server as a compressed Java Archive (".jar") file which includes an encrypted object manifest and an Object Signing Certificate. It is virtually impossible for the software to be changed or corrupted during transmission. And the original source of the software is clearly identified by a Thawte Object Signing Certificate.
  • NetLabels runs on any of the following operating systems - Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. All you need is a Java-compatible browser, and an Internet connection.
  • Java understands images and graphics - incorporate them into your label designs. Put a picture of what's in the folder on the folder's label.
  • NetLabels is easy to interface to your other computer systems - it's network-aware. Terminal emulation, sockets, SNA (EHLLAPI /LU6.2), API's, CGI, file transfers, and many other types of interfaces are all possible.
  • Bar-code printing requires a FREE bar-code font installed on your system.

NetLabels Hardware Requirements
NetLabels should run successfully on almost any computer capable of running web browsers. To access NetLabels @ www.netlabels.com , you must have Internet access via modem or network connection.

Due to the heavy usage of color on labels, your workstation's graphics hardware should support more than 256 colors - use "16-bit" or "24-bit" color. We also recommend a screen resolution of at least 800 by 600 pixels, although the browser will create horizontal and vertical scroll bars as needed if the entire web page is not visible.
