What is Java?

Java is a programming language that can run in your web browser. NetLabels is written in Java.

Java was created by Sun Microsystems Inc. The Sun Java web site has an excellent overview of Java entitled "What is the Java Platform?"

We think that Java makes NetLabels unique in many ways compared to other label printing solutions:

  • NetLabels requires minimal technical support. There is no need to install NetLabels from a CD or floppy disks on each computer you use to print labels.
  • There are no software upgrades to get new versions of NetLabels. Every time you go to www.netlabels.com, you get the latest version of NetLabels downloaded automatically in about one minute or less, depending on your Internet connection speed. If the software has not changed, the copy of NetLabels downloaded previously and stored in your browser's cache will be used, eliminating download time.
  • NetLabels is available on all of your computers at every location. Everybody in your company can print labels they need on any computer connected to the Internet.
  • NetLabels is secure. Each NetLabels user has an encrypted password. The software you download is protected by an encrypted digital certificate, preventing tampering and viruses.
  • NetLabels is everywhere, all the time. You can print any type of label, from any location, at any time, on virtually any computer.
