When the Java Applet is loading, it just stops and I get the error "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException". What can I do to fix this?

A proxy server on your network is not allowing the NetLabels Applet to load correctly.

To fix this problem:

  • Go to the Windows Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel)
  • Double click on the Java Plug-in icon
  • Click on the "Proxies" tab
    • UN-check "Use Browser Settings"
    • Enter the HTTP Proxy Server address and Port Number
      • These can be found by running NetLabels at www.netlabels.com (click on "Print Labels") and looking in the Java Console. The Java Console can be opened by double-clicking on the coffee cup icon in the system tray. The proxy settings are listed several lines down the Java Console.
